Kathryn Bridget Moynahan (born September 21, 1972 in Binghamton, New York) is an American model and actress of Irish descent, best known for her roles in films such as Coyote Ugly; I, Robot and Lord of War. Moynahan grew up in Longmeadow, Massachusetts, along with her two brothers, Andrew and Seán. Her father is a scientist who is currently a college administrator and her mother is a former school teacher.

As a child she was a self-professed tomboy, excelling at sports. In High School, Bridget -- known as "Kat" to friends -- was the captain of her basketball team and played soccer instead of attending drama class. As fate would have it, drama eventually crept into her life. Upon graduating, Moynahan moved to New York City in pursuit of fame. She gave herself three years to find success before reassessing her life. This proved unnecessary when her knack for modeling led to her appearing in many magazines spreads, most notably Vogue, New Woman and Glamour.

Bridget possesses a rare blend of quality traits: tall, graceful and elegantly beautiful. Few actresses can balance tough roles with such feminine looks. Her looks and New York-base both contributed in her winning her first big role in 1999, Sex and the City. In the breakout series, Moynahan portrayed Natasha, the woman who marries Mr. Big, the love of main character Carrie's (Sarah Jessica Parker) life. Since playing Natasha -- referred to as "the idiot stick figure with no soul" on the show -- Bridget has been greeted with malicious comments while walking the streets.

On the upside, her exposure on Sex and the City has led to movie roles. Bridget's first three films were the indie flicks Whipped, Trifling with Fate and In the Weeds, all released in 2000. While not huge draws critically or financially, they marked her fast-approaching arrival in the spotlight. Bridget really became a star thanks to her portrayal of Rachel, the fire-breathing barmaid in 2000's chick flick, Coyote Ugly. The film was a huge success and brought a great deal of attention to the female-filled cast, which included Piper Perabo and Tyra Banks.

In 2001, Moynahan appeared as "the other woman" in the romantic comedy Serendipity, starring John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale. That same year, Moynahan auditioned for the "Tom Clancy" thriller, The Sum of All Fears, which she won. As CIA agent Jack Ryan's fiancée, Moynahan proved to be a wonderful presence as the film's only female character. It went to number one at the box office upon its summer 2002 release.

Since then Moynahan's star has continued to rise with 2003's The Recruit, co-starring Colin Farrell and screen legend Al Pacino and the blockbuster hit I, Robot, featuring Will Smith in 2004. Her recent film work includes Lord of War as Nicolas Cage's dreamgirl. She could be seen in early 2007 on the well-received but unfortunately canceled TV series Six Degrees.

On her preferred alcoholic beverage:

"Vodka straight up, nothing in it, just right to the point. I don't even know what a lot of these fancy drinks are."

Bridget's profile has been escalated recently with her announced pregnacy in late 2006, which was came after her breakup from her boyfriend of a few years, Tom Brady, New England Patriots quarterback. Yet despite the exciting Hollywood life, Moynahan admits to a real-life love for knitting.

It will be interesting to see what direction this beautiful and versatile actress takes next!

Great story. Love the timing of this posting especially since there has been such tremendous news of her ex and his new booty.

Thanks for the UPlift.

God, she's stunning! What woman wouldn't kill for her facial bone structure, full lips and absolutely beautiful eyes? Not to mention a killer bod. Some may say she (was)too skinny, but you know that old saying...you can never be too rich or thin. Her baby is going to have excellent DNA.

My girlfriends and I have debated who we would want to look like, and I got lots of "good choice" when I mentioned Bridget! Of course we all love Coyote Ugly, so that probably biases it some. ;)

I think she looks thin but healthy, maybe athletic is the best word.

Tammy, you are so right about the excellent DNA! Great looking parents, for sure. I'm still a bit curious about what all went on between Bridget and Brady.
